shirt

project

This Central Saint Martins shirt project explores the transition into corporate adulthood through the lens of anti-conformity.

Inspired by my peers entering the traditional corporate workforce, the collection documents their daily resistance against rigid dress codes. I focused on their utilitarian customisation of standard office shirts—deconstructing them, cutting into the fabrication, and layering them with casual hoodies and technical bags to preserve their identity within a corporate environment.

The final designs below re-engineer the traditional smart shirt into a contemporary, subverted silhouette.

The final garment is an oversized smart shirt re-engineered with an integrated backpack to merge tailoring with functional utility.

Specifically catering to skate culture, this design offers an alternative silhouette with details preferred for movement and a relaxed look.
